23. San Fran, There We Went

Morning: The Clipper takes off into a rising sun on the final hop of its trans-Pacific flight, with no Glo. She works the Wake Island - Honolulu hop. She will keep in touch. 
                                      
At the Alameda Air Terminal near San Franciso, Ali turns to Kimura: “Howzabout renting a car to New York? It’ll give us a chance to do USA on the road.”  They go to Rent-a-Car for a Chevy roadster.

Next day in early morning rain and Ali driving on an almost empty highway, they head south to Route 66 at Barstow, California.
